EKONO's staff members have extensive experience in process design and optimization work in the pulp and paper industry, both in North America and Europe.  Our principals are:

Mr. Heikki Mannisto, Chemical Engineer, P.E., President

Heikki has over 40 years of experience in process, environmental and energy engineering in the pulp and paper industry.  He has worked as a project manager and process specialist in a large number of production and cost optimization, energy conservation and environmental control studies.  Heikki has also worked as a project manager and process specialist in a number of feasibility studies and implementation projects for new pulp and paper facilities.

Ms. Eva Mannisto, Chemical Engineer, P.E., Vice President, Technology

Eva has over 30 years experience in process, energy and environmental engineering.  She has worked as a project manager and process specialist in a variety of projects for pulp and paper customers in North America and Europe.  Eva is responsible for publishing our annual study "Environmental Performance, Regulations and Technologies in the Pulp and Paper Industry."  Through that work she stays up-to-date on the performance of mills in North America and Northern Europe as well as the new technology applications in the pulp and paper industry.
